Mesquite Wildlife Oasis is a one-of-a-kind outdoor classroom in Arlington, Arizona, where students explore wildlife, water, desert ecology, renewable energy, and conservation through immersive, hands-on experiences.

Through Bouquot Consulting, Becky Bouquot manages and advances the program on behalf of Wildlife for Tomorrow - coordinating the people, partnerships, systems, funding, educational content, and site needs required to transform a unique desert habitat into a meaningful learning experience.

Managing Mesquite Wildlife Oasis requires far more than delivering field-trip lessons. Becky’s role brings together every aspect of program planning and implementation, including:

Award Winning Program - Mesquite Wildlife Oasis

In 2016, Sempra Renewables was inducted into the Arizona Outdoor Hall of Fame in recognition of its commitment to preserving Mesquite Wildlife Oasis as vital wildlife habitat and an outdoor education destination. RWE, the property’s current owner, continues to honor and advance that commitment. Bouquot Consulting has played an instrumental role in the program’s continued growth, coordination, and success.

Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Summer Camp

Bouquot Consulting developed and implemented a youth summer camp created through a partnership involving the Arizona Game and Fish Department and Wildlife for Tomorrow.

The program provided children with opportunities to experience wildlife, conservation, and responsible outdoor recreation through hands-on activities at the Hirsch Conservation Education Area.

Program elements included:

  • Wildlife education

  • Fishing and aquatic recreation

  • Outdoor skills

  • Conservation principles

  • Natural-resource education

  • Guided exploration

  • Recreation-based learning

  • Partnership and instructor coordination

The program began in 2016 and demonstrated how nonprofit and public-agency partners could work together to provide memorable outdoor experiences for young people.
